Our Five Ministries!

It’s time to move forward to take our five ministries to the next step!  Look for an upcoming gathering to brainstorm form and function and get going!!

 

  Session highlights:

…       Our overall directive – to be fixed on God!!! 

…       Pray without ceasing… Prayer time focuses us as we discern God’s will.  Our prayer time will resume at 9:45 am Sunday mornings before church.  Everyone is invited to join us!  Also, starting in September, a prayer gathering is scheduled between chime choir and chancel choir from 7:15-7:30 pm. 

…       Our ministries have been left behind with all the distractions of late.  The five ministries – meals, visitation, transportation, correspondence, and get-r-done – will be gathering to brainstorm ideas and functionality.  If you haven’t signed up now’s the time to step forward and join one.

…       Communication – is more than important, it’s critical to our continued ministry as the body of Christ.  There are several ways in which Session can keep you informed of what’s going on not just in our church but in the broader church and in the mission field around the globe.  Various methods will be employed to determine the best way of getting information to you.  Information such as:

o       We have a new Book of Order and new guide to our government, what does this mean?  And what does it include? 

o       Members can find assorted information in reading their Presbyterian Today magazine or online on the PC(USA) website (http://www.pcusa.org/).

o       If you have any questions, we invite you to ask!

…       Stewardship and Fundraisers –  a stewardship drive is being planned as well as fundraisers.  Stay tuned for further details!

…       Session voted to participate in the Acts 16.5 initiative, a program to build the church from the inside out.  Session members pledged to support the program financially to cover the cost and we are applying for grants for the rest of the funds.  This is a three year program involving our session and pastor in a visioning process to lead us into the years to come – with God’s help and guidance!
